Boy and Dog

This was the first painting I ever sold. Selling a piece is a bittersweet experience. I definitely form a connection with each piece as I’m creating it, and it’s a little tough to sever that connection. But this is really outweighed by the idea of someone else enjoying what I’ve made. This piece really brought home to me that I had the power to affect people, to make them happy. Even when I’m not there with them.
This is also the first appearance of the little white dog. He’ll continue to pop up in future works. In fact, he’s in a piece I just completed this past Saturday, ‘Atomic Christmas #3.’
